Why do we eat them...??

I love most vegetables...crave them in the Summer months--but hate the lack of flavor.  Most of the taste has been stripped away so we have a perfect shaped and colored product.   Tomatoes are one of my favorites, but I do not like the bland flavor of the store brands.
Damn Monsanto anyways! 
It's all about the money.........
I tried to grow my own tomatoes this year, but the weather was too crappy.  I am getting my garden set up for next Spring so I can have a successful crop...making a mini-greenhouse out of chicken wire and some thick plastic.   Until then, I shall visit the public markets that have the local gardeners wares for sale.  Not many things tastier than a home grown tomato.
